McMillan James is proud to announce the expansion of their operations to South Texas – by opening a new branch office in Houston, serving the Greater Houston and Gulf Coast region. Ian Taxman, formerly of Taxman and Associates, will manage the office and the team of sales personnel.
“We look forward to serving the HVAC industry in South Texas.”, says Principal, Robert McMillan, “The same level of service and commitment that has earned us the trust and repeat business from our customers in North and West Texas, will be the foundation of our efforts moving into Houston.”
Many of the lines that McMillan James proudly represents in North Texas will be a part of their offering in the expanded market. “There is a lot of business being done across Texas and across the traditional market lines. This expansion will help us serve all of our clients, allowing us to support work statewide, providing consistent customer service and efficient execution”, added Principal, Isaac Henson.
Sales personnel in the Houston market will be visiting customers over the coming weeks with more information on the new expansion. If any customers have questions about the changes, they are encouraged to contact either the Houston or North Texas offices.

About McMillan James:
McMillan James Equipment Company (MJEC) was founded in 1987 by its current president Mark McMillan. The company’s roots actually date back to the early 1950’s when McMillan Equipment Company (MECO), a Houston based manufacturer’s rep firm, was first established by Hugh D. McMillan Jr.
McMillan and Associates was formed in 1987 when Mark McMillan took over the Dallas -Fort Worth operations of MECO. In 1999 the name was changed to McMillan Choate & Associates (MCA) when Lonnie Choate and Mark McMillan joined forces.
In 2007 Lonnie Choate sold his interest back to the company. The name was changed to McMillan James Equipment Company when Mark James and Robert McMillan purchased ownership positions and were elevated to the Partner level. In 2016, McMillan James Houston Office was brought online.

On June 15th, McMillan James opened the doors to a new 15,000 square foot facility located at 810 Mustang Drive in Grapevine. The new facility, adjacent to the home office at 1010 Mustang Drive, houses a training center, product showroom, a parts and material warehouse and offices for the newly formed After Market Group (AMG). The training center accommodates up to 75 guests and features a state-of-the-art audio-visual system with multiple screens designed for video conferencing, BIM modeling and product application seminars.
Adjacent to the training center is a product showroom which will exhibit a ClimateCraft custom “Access” style air handling unit, ClimateMaster geothermal heat pumps, a Grundfos BoosterpaQ booster system, Phoenix Controls critical environment pressure control systems, a Marley Cooling Tower, and several other products from our various manufacturers.
The After Market Group, relocated from the previous location in Garland (the Garland office is now closed), is dedicated to selling products and services to the existing building market, and includes the Marley parts and services operation. Parts and product inventories for all product lines has been relocated to the new facility.
Air distribution control within the facility is accomplished with variable-air-volume diffusers. All supply diffusers throughout the facility are Acutherm Thermafusers with complete BACnet interfaces. The low-pressure (.20”wc) duct system is exposed spiral pipe with a powder-coated finish supplied by SEMCO. The heating and cooling unit is a variable-air-volume DX system from Dectron, designed to turn down to 10% of capacity utilizing digital scroll compressors and an ECM variable speed fan/motor system. The HVAC system, and other building systems, are controlled by an Automated Logic BACnet DDC system provided by LSI. This system provides multiple small independent temperature zones and large turndown capability, with very low noise and extremely high efficiency.
McMillan James would like to thank the following firms for contributing to the great success of the project:
Parallel Technologies – Project Architect
FBE – General Contractor
Team Sheet Metal – Sheet Metal Contractor

E-Mc – Electrical Contractor
