In continuing this effort, SMU retrofitted their newest LEED-driven building, Prothro Hall, with a air-quality monitoring system by Aircuity. The system uses a network of air transport and data cabling to centrally monitor air-quality, without the need for individual sensors, and with a reliable calibration methodology. The system currently monitors carbon dioxide for demand-based ventilation functionality and has the capability to be expanded to monitor humidity, volatile organic compounds, airborne particulate and carbon monoxide.
